Undergraduate researcher and ambassador Vishvi Aurora takes us through her role in the King Lab with her mentors Gavin King and Sadie Nichols. As a research assistant, Vishvi is examining the relationship between proteins and membrane surfaces. She works with modern technology to define the reactions and relationships between proteins and membranes with precision.
For Vishvi, undergraduate research is essential to learning. The hands-on nature of working in a lab allows for the development of technical and practical knowledge that can be applied in many aspects of many careers. She advises, “Take good notes,” and offers key advice for getting started and finding a mentor and lab that fits your interests.
