The Missouri School of Journalism Summer Fellowship Program is designed to give undergraduate students from non-R1 colleges and universities the opportunity to experience graduate education at one of the top journalism and strategic communication programs in the world. Students selected for this program will live on campus in Columbia and work with a faculty mentor for nine weeks. This is a full-time program and students may NOT enroll in other coursework or hold part-time jobs. Students are expected to be in Columbia for the entire nine weeks (no vacations); there are no activities planned on the weekends. Students will participate in all aspects of the larger summer program at Mizzou including orientation, educational programming, social events, and the Forum (poster session) at the end of the summer on July 25, 2024. Interns are provided:
- $4,500 stipend
- Free Housing in an MU Residence Hall
- Travel support to/from Columbia, if needed
- One Hour of Research Credit

The priority application deadline is Friday, March 15th, 2024. Applications received after March 15th will be reviewed on a space-available basis.
Students must complete the attached application form and provide: 1) an unofficial transcript (including Fall 2023 grades); 2) two letters of recommendation; 3) a personal statement including career plans, prior research/professional experience (if any); 4) a statement of research/professional interests; and 5) a resume.
