Position Information
The Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (VMDL) is seeking motivated and detail-oriented seasonal workers for high volume Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing. Earn extra cash for the holidays while developing your hands-on laboratory skills!
Job Duties
Trim & weigh cervid tissues in preparation for diagnostic testing
Ensure sample accountability is maintained by verifying identification numbers and bar codes
Operate laboratory equipment to properly homogenize trimmed tissues
Required Skills
Work efficiency, trustworthiness, and strict adherence to laboratory quality control standards with attention to detail are of upmost importance
Preferred Qualifications
Laboratory experience is preferred (but not required), including basic operation of pipettes and biosafety cabinets. Ability to work well with other team members.
Other Comments
Looking for individuals with availability to work two-six weeks starting in mid-November. Required availability Mon-Fri (8am-5pm) with flexibility to work after 5pm, as well as weekends, if necessary. The VMDL will be closed Nov. 28-29th in observance of Thanksgiving, as well as Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
