Position Information

I am looking for exceptional students with an operational understanding, experience, and long-term interests in analytical biochemistry, NMR, MS and natural products.  This opportunity for undergraduate researchers includes a voluntary probationary period (usually one semester) before funding, but funding is available following the probationary period.   Preference will be given to undergraduates based on their interest to continue on with their graduate education here at Mizzou.  Our program offers longer-term developmental benefits and this year our program has been fortunate to receive multiple awards supporting students including: NIH Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, Cherng Undergraduate Research Fellowship and a MizzouForward Undergraduate Research Training Award. 

Job Duties

Students will actively contribute to the scientific goals associated with one or more of our funded projects on Elderberries, NMR database MP-MRD.org, or internal projects. Students will acquire hands-on laboratory and instrumental experience in plant growth, plant harvesting, chemical extractions, natural products biochemistry, metabolomics data acquisition and processing, GC-MS, UHPLC-MS/MS and/or NMR.

Preferred Qualifications

Junior or seniors currently enrolled in a relevant BSc program such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Plant Science & Technology.
