Position Information
Job Duties
Our lab examines the brain pathways critical to breathing and blood pressure under normal and disease conditions. We are seeking an individual with similar interests looking for research experience for graduate or medical school. Depending on interest and experience, individuals will perform experiments with senior lab individuals, and obtain their own project.
Individuals will/may perform immunohistochemistry, PCR, western blots, cell culture, calcium imaging on neurons and astrocytes. Assist in cleaning glassware, making solutions and general lab duties. May assist in rodent husbandry and physiological measurements
Work is located at the Dalton Cardiovascular Research Center. Transportation is needed.
Required Skills
An interest in physiology and neuroscience and desire to learn. Attention to detail is critical. Those interested should provide a current resume.
Preferred Qualifications
Some lab experience, either via coursework or employment
