Are you an IT DIY fan? Have you imaged to develop useful smart phone apps? Are you interested in developing wireless sensing networks using Raspberry pi, Arduino, Wi-Fi and ZigBee? Do you want to develop a website which can be used to log sensor data and to control actuators (motors)? We want to fund you to gain those exciting experiences.
Hired individuals will work with faculty mentors and other students in developing a wireless sensing network (WSN) based on ZigBee and/or Wi-Fi communication. The main duties include (1) to develop a web-based interface to log wireless sensor data and control remote devices, (2) to develop a smart phone app to review sensor data and control remote devices, and (3) to develop a cloud-based data management system (database) to store, visualize and analyze data. Position may occasionally require field work with sensors and devices installation and maintenance.
Position requires one or more of the following skills:
(1) to develop website;
(2) to develop smart phone apps;
(3) to use Python/Visual studio/C++/Arduino or similar programing languages for website development and control;
(4) to work independently.
Relative experience is preferred.
