Undergrad Research Assistant

Position Information

This position is seeking undergraduate research assistants for MO Rural Stories, a qualitative research project that examines diverse lived experiences, narratives, and values that shape rural Missouri life and inform peoples’ perceptions of equity as it relates to their communities’ health, well-being, and ability to thrive. 

Job Duties

Work with a team of faculty researchers to assist with a range of tasks including researching historical information and demographics for rural Missouri communities, co-conducting focus groups, spending time on site for mini-ethnographies, contacting and recruiting interview participants, coding data, and more.

Required Skills

Good writing skills, able to access and use library resources, familiarity with ASA or APA formatting, good communication skills, willingness to take direction and to learn new skills, and IRB certified (can be completed at time of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

Sophomore or higher sociology student; interest in qualitative research.
