2-3 student volunteers are needed to assist with the monitoring and care of both larval and juvenile salamanders over the late spring-early summer months (April-June). This is a great way to get hands on experience handling and caring for captive animals, as well as experience with scientific data collection. These positions could lead to potential opportunities for future independent research. Responsibilities will include capturing/measuring salamanders from outdoor experimental enclosures, feeding salamanders, ensuring clean and moist housing, and maintaining worm colonies. This position will typically require 5-10 hours a week, and has a great deal of flexibility as to when those hours are worked. There may be additional opportunities to become involved in ecological and behavioral research if desired.
