Undergraduate Researcher Position

Position Information

We are looking for an assistant on a project studying the impact of genomic variation on cognitive and locomotor traits with the aim of identifying how this variation plays a role in susceptibility to neurodegeneration. Duties will include assisting with fruit fly maintenance, preparing and conducting various experiments, and opportunities to work with R programming and other computational tools for data collection and analysis. Experiments include behavioral assays, sample collection for gene expression analysis, and imaging of neuromuscular junctions and brain tissue. Additionally, there will be potential to develop an independent project.

We are looking for students who can commit a minimum of one year to the project and are available to work throughout Summer 2024.
