Undergraduate Research Project for credit in the MU Limnology Lab

Position Information


Do you want to do an undergraduate thesis project with international colleagues?! Dr. Rebecca North of the MU Limnology Lab is recruiting an undergraduate student to join her Linked UnderGraduate NUTrient Experiments (LUGNUTs) Program. Collaborative with a group of international colleagues, students will conduct an experiment measuring greenhouse gas emissions from wetlands. This will involve field work in the fall term, lab work throughout, with the expectation that the student will write an undergraduate thesis by the end of the spring semester. The expectation is 10 hours a week for both the fall 2018 and spring 2019 terms for 3 credits in undergraduate research through the School of Natural Resources.

Required Skills

An interest in aquatic ecology/limnology.
The ability to work independently on your own research project.
Interest in field work including the use of a canoe and driving a truck.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
Drivers licence.
