Behavioral Neuroscience Undergraduate Research Assistant (Summer position)


Position Information


The Matthew Will Behavioral Neuroscience laboratory is seeking an undergraduate research assistant starting in the Summer to join our research team! We are a rodent laboratory investigating motivational properties of drugs of abuse and natural rewards, such as food. We use operant conditioning models as well as free feeding assessments in rat models. Our research assistants will help with daily animal care and husbandry, behavioral testing, and data collection. We will train our assistants to help with surgical techniques, injections and histological procedures. We request only students that can assist starting during the summer of 2018.

Preferred Qualifications

We prefer current Freshmen and Sophomore students familiar with biology and psychology, but do accept students from other departments. We request that students are familiar with Microsoft Excel. Must have some availability during 8:00-2:00 of the week (Does not need to be every day). Availability for some weekend days, on either a Saturday or Sunday (whichever fits their schedule) is also preferred.
