Undergraduate Mentoring in Environmental Biology
The Undergraduate Mentoring in Environmental Biology (UMEB): Training Ecologist Doctors for the 21st Century program provides a 14 month (two summers and one academic year) scholarship of $14,000 to under-represented minority sophomores and juniors of all majors interested in environmental careers. Students take part in year-round research with MU faculty and a summer internship with industry or public service partners. Research experiences include fieldwork in a variety of settings. The academic year program offers courses leading to certification in environmental studies as well as peer mentoring, educational and career-related workshops and organized study groups. This program is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

- Students must have educational plans compatible with environmental studies certification.

- $1,000 per month for 14 months
