The Office of Undergraduate Research is seeking undergraduate researchers to serve as ambassadors for the 2009-2010 academic year. Ambassadors will be responsible for representing MU and the Office of Undergraduate Research at various functions and events including on-campus recruiting days, VIP receptions, and may entail giving short presentations to VIPs and elected officials. Students will be asked to participate during UGR month, which consists of 8 events in October. As well as participating in Rockin¿ Research Week, a full week of events in February. Students will NOT be asked to miss class to participate. The application for the 2009-2010 year can be found here.
Participation as an Undergraduate Research Ambassador
will entitle you to receive:
- $100 for the academic year
- An undergraduate research polo shirt
- A great résumé-building experience
- An opportunity for a great recommendation letter
Any undergraduate researcher may apply to be an ambassador, regardless of academic year or major. Fifteen (15) Ambassadors will be selected on the basis of their application and a panel interview. In addition to enthusiasm and strong communication skills, we are looking for a diversity of majors including the fine and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. Final selections will be made by the Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. Once selected, ambassadors will receive training.
